It all began with a cheap ebay doll over 15 years ago now. A male doll I am sure I got scammed on. Cheap on ebay, and nothing like the picture on the listing. Also strung so badly his body would snap in half if you looked cross at him.
I dressed him up a little now and again, then lost interest in him since I never found any reason to make him clothes.
Around 3 years after I lost interest, I found a doll I wanted. Over 400 dollars. But it was a from a good brand and a store with reputation.
So I went on ebay and bought a cheap female doll instead!
And I found it was a lot more fun with a doll to make pretty dresses for. And even if it was cheap, the face was actually amazing. The body was sort of thick though, and a lot of patterns didn’t fit, so I had to push her into most of the clothes I made.
But she looked amazing in what I made her, and it felt rewarding.

Then I saved up. Decided that I would not loose interest when I had a doll I loved dressing. With a job it was also easier to start saving up, and then spoiling myself after busy working season. So I ordered my first expensive doll. The one I had wanted for over 5 years now.
And I sort of got a little disappointed? She looks amazing and all, but I think she just didn’t fit the image of the character I had. Since I base each of my dolls on my original characters. But I still love her compared to my first one. And damn she is fun to go all out on for Halloween!
Thus, she is my Halloween girl!

However, my hunger was still not sated. And I had gotten a 100% boss job with ensured money comming in each month. So I saved again. But this time I bought more expensive dolls and two at once! I bought them as a couple.
I think I bought them around summer, and they didn’t come before the year after, but the wait was worth it. The only issue was the man doll was a little bulkier than I had thought, but he was quite fine, so that is acceptable (First time getting the bag of dicks though XD)

Enter Mina and Gabriel Moore. Happily married couple with a lot of dark secrets betweem them and on their own, but each to their own and all that.
The male doll is a Ring Doll – BJD Wo Long Military Version Boy 70.5cm Ball-jointed Doll, and the female one is Xaga Doll – BJD Butterfly Girl 59cm Ball-Jointed Doll.
It was really hard to find pictures of the dolls or any sort of unboxing videos to judge how they would look, so I will just put a lot of picks up here so others can see a little of how they look. Especially the Xaga doll as I couldn’t find anything else than the sales picturs. She is lovely though. Until my next purchase, she was my favourite.

Entering the next dolls:

A new year. A new summer of working so much I felt like I needed something to look forward to. And since these brand dolls were on the cheaper side, it was still just half the price of the two ones from the last time. Ring Doll is not cheap, especially when you have to get the clothes too if you want the face-up.
So I decide to get my first kid doll. An adorable little thing fitting the best girl. And I needed a male doll that looks kind. A warm smile fitting the kindest adoptive dad ever!

One more I had to wait 6-7 months, but I lived. Even if the hope of getting them by Christmas was crushed by 2 months. It was nice once I got them.

Perfection! My best doll ever! Worth every dollar! Him too, I just love her more.

My next challenge now though is to make male doll clothes. So far I have just made for the girls, since there is so little patterns to find for the 70+ dolls. The suit I got for Gabriel was tailored to him and thankfully had so many parts I can also use the coat on Morgan. But I would love to make them some cool clothes too one day.
